Artist Sylvie Barbier visits a place known as the 'Gateway to the Sahara', in a desert camp in Morocco, where an installation representing the troubles of the traditionally nomadic Tuareg people, ignites more than just the senses. As the boundaries of the many countries which share the Sahara are fought over and made impassable without suitable paperwork, the Tuareg are often divided from their families and forcibly separated from their centuries-old way of life.
